Summer Camps

2008 Summer Camps Schedule

To our benefit at Whistler we have the advantage of both a long spring season on Whistler Mountain as well as a glacier to train on in the summer. This year we are offering as a bonus to those athletes registered as full-time racers in K1, K2, J1 and J2 a chance for some inexpensive gate training while they are at the top of their game. Of course we will also continue to offer up the best summer camps on the planet and venture abroad in the fall. Details of all camps along with dates and pricing are below but just to give you an overview of what one might be expected to do at this time of year to maximize performance, finances and windows of opportunity and trainability I have compiled a short list.

The goal of our spring and summer ski training is to make permanent technical changes in our athletes. The ski volume needed to do this is approximately 10,000-12,000 supervised turns or gates. This may seem like a lot of turns and gates but it is really about the quality and focus of time on task with our athletes. While the details of this email pertain primarily with ski camps we will also be doing dryland camps throughout the summer and we will be doing off hill physical and ski education during our camps.
